Each article covers Tiger Woods imminent surgery upon his knee. The world number is likely to be out of competition for at least four weeks. The thirteen-time champion decided to play through the pain at the recent Masters competition. This is a commendable feat considering he finished second. This will be the second time he has gone under knife to fix a problematic knee.
The ESPN article concentrates more on the golfing aspect of the impact this will have. It is for a much more golf-orientated audience to read. It goes into depth of when Tiger last missed any tournaments for either personal reasons or through injury. Considering the website is linked with GolfWorld it should cover the story in detail and show the impact it will have on the world of golf.
BBC has covered the story in less depth but does include more quotes and has a more personal approach to Tiger. The story focuses more on the effect it will have on him. The reason for the surgery are also shown from a quote from is manager. When compared to the first article this story covers a lot less aspects. It does highlight one major tournament, which Tiger will miss. This article also includes more quotes about the process he is about to go through.
The Skysports article is very similar to the BBC article. It gives the bare facts and I feel it skims the information. It gives the reader just enough information to grasp what is going on. The article uses similar quotes if not the same as each other throughout the article. It has the same stance in that it focuses on Tiger more than the impact it will have on the golf. One difference is that within the opening paragraph Skysports states he will be out for at least four weeks almost putting a positive spin on the amount of time he will be injured.
Reuters have covered the story in a similar fashion to the BBC and Skysports. The information is given in order to allow the reader to grasp knowledge of it. Also quotes concerning his reaction and his managers reaction are stated. It focuses more on the effect it will have on him while he is recovering rather than golf as a sport. This article is does cover the story in more detail than the BBC and Skysports, which is shown in the length of the article.
The Daily Telegraph article is the shortest in length and gives the least amount of detail about the incident. This could almost be bullet pointed to give information to the readers. As the article is very short in length it is deemed not very important. It may seem that not many people would want to read about.
I suppose only a specific audience would want to read about the incident. In America golf is seen as a major sport, so therefore it is given more precedence. What we can gather from all of these articles is that some of the world’s top golfers can relax for while without Tiger breathing down their neck

Group Blog-Critical Evaluation
The basic idea behind the grumpy cunts blog was to highlight the issues, which annoy each of the writers in a humorous way. We had the freedom to choose any topic to write about we wanted. The only house rules we had to abide by were a set word limit and to include at least one image or a video. Also we were set specific times on which we had to post my time were two until four.
Generally writing on the blog was an easy experience as each subject was personal and generally flowed quite consistently.
The blog as a whole worked very well as each post was original and covered a completely different subject. The funny aspect of each post made it an enjoyable experience to read the blog. The aesthetics of the blog were greatly helped by the banner, which was created by a group member. I particularly liked the simple nature of the layout. The colours were simple and were easy on the eye, making it easy to read each post.
Writing each post was fairly straightforward even though I did struggle with one post. The initial idea I felt was a good one but I found it hard to lengthen it out to meet the word limit. I feel my style of writing suits blogs and online as it quite loose and free. I also like the freedom of writing online as you can include humorous aspect, maybe you couldn’t include in print. Plus the freedom to swear is always welcomed I feel four out of five post was of a decent standard, the last one let me down slightly but everyone can’t be perfect.
The group worked smoothly with everyone meeting the deadlines, which were set, apart from Liz who did miss two days but did manage to meet the rest of them. We may have benefited from setting broad topics from which we could write about, as a few members wrote about transport.

Scudmore genius or fool?
The idea to add another match to the already crammed fixture schedule it’s quite frankly idiotic. Player fatigue is now a major concern for managers all across the country, putting another match on top of that plus a long haul journey to a country, which probably doesn’t even want them there, all for some extra money.
None other than the premier league chief executive himself conjured up this idea. Richard Scudamore has even gone completely insane or money hungry, well you could argue that both are the same. This pretty much comes out of the blue with him securing numerous beneficial deals for the league such as BskyB and various deals with the BBC.
Many countries in which he wished to stage the matches have rejected this cash-grabbing idea, further reinforcing the general stupidity of the idea. Unless he pulls another masterplan, and I use that phrase lightly, out the bag he could be taking that bag to another job.
Fans have brought up numerous complaints about traveling to watch these matches. Season ticket holders will surely lose money. Being a student myself i know for a fact losing money is never nice. Every penny counts.
I suppose one positive from a fans side is that we get to see another match, which is always good. With the idea seemingly being dismissed with Blatter saying "it could harm England's world cup bid", the jury is still out on Mr Scudamore.

Youtube Video
The cult band OK Go have a knack of producing amazing dance routines to include their videos. An old favourite is an elaborate one involving treadmills. This is video is as close to genius as you will find on the internet. Timing is impeccable; the hours of practice have clearly paid off. Injuries must have been at an all time high with technical moves being performed. This is an example of creativity at its highest levels.
It’s refreshing to see a band make a low budget video which they have clearly enjoyed creating. Compare this to moody R’n’B stars having a dance in a club trying to catch the attentions of a young female. The humorous take on what is seen in the music industry as a mandatory occurrence thanks to MTV is more than welcome on any music channel. Change can be a good thing. This video won a Grammy for “best short-form music video”. An impressive feat by any means .
This short video has taken youtube by storm receiving a staggering 29,710,693 views and being favourited 199,481.
Sit back and enjoy!

History of Blogging
The history of blogging is a blurry one. No one seems to lay claim to being the forefather of this latest Internet craze. Names are thrown around in an attempt to label someone as the creator. Names such as Justin Hall and Jorn Barger are mention frequently. According to many resources Justin Hall is the father of blogging. He set up a web page in 1994 and started to write an online journal, which continued for many years. The actual term, “blog”, wasn’t coined until 1999 when Peter Merholz created it shortening the original, “wee-blog”, which is an obvious improvement. When the term was created Jesse James Garrett made a list of current blogs consisting of 23.
Many bloggers don’t make a profit from their blogs. It is reported the only Jason Calacanis has made a profit when he sold his blogs for a staggering $25 million. Most writers purely write for the love of it and to share their views and opinions on controversial subjects. Blogs can pretty much be found on any subject you care to think about. Shoes, football, hair, ipods, pencils, can all be found on the world wide web.

Whos using the internet?
It is estimated that a staggering 13.9 million people in the UK access the internet from home. This survey conducted by the yorkshire tourist board also revealed that the south east had the highest percentage of users in the UK. In a total poll of all countries the UK sits seventh on the list lead by the USA who are followed by China. 84% of people who had internet access at home had a broadband connection. Internet access has risen a couple of percent each year due to the availability of technology and internet ready computers. Wireless internet has also played a considerable part in this trend increasing, access to the web can almost be ganed anywhere within the country nowadays.
